The summer after I graduated from the University of Florida, I had the opportunity to intern with a nonprofit organization in Cape Town through the Masambeni Internship Program. This was my first experience working within the field of social work and it was an enriching experience that challenged me in many ways. I greatly enjoyed learning more about the history of social work in South Africa and collaborating with like-minded interns from around the world.
